Late Work Policy:
We ask that you try and turn all assignments in on time, but life happens. We will accept assignments for up to one week after the due date. Please call Mrs. White if assignments are expected to be later then this time. You can reach her at: 503-345-9876
Students, with the help of the learning coach, are expected to complete the assignments by the due dates. The online lesson path will have a due date on the left hand side of each assignment listed. If you have questions or concerns about the assignment, you can always contact me and I will be happy to assist you with any concerns you might have. When the unit projects are due, we ask that you submit the material by taking a photo or video of the students project and sending it to the teacher at: [email protected]
Grading Policy:
When children submit an assignment online, sometimes it will be graded automatically. Of course these assignments are with the Kindergartener in mind. There will be simple puzzles to put together and other activities. These assignments will be graded automatically through the system. You may see something that says, "100%" meaning the child completed the assignment. If a child does not complete the assignment you will see a red exclamation mark meaning the child did not complete the assignment to satisfactory. If you have any questions about this, you can feel free to contact me at: 503-345-9876 or the IT Dept. at: 503-765-4321 ext. 101
Our grading system looks like this:
S - Satisfactory, meaning the student has mastered the skill.
I - Improving, meaning the student is showing growth in mastering the skill.
N -Needs improvement, meaning the student is showing difficulty learning the skill.
You will receive a report of your student's progress every 10 weeks. You can find this information online on the lesson path website where it says, "Student Grade" so you can keep track of their progress.
Assessments:
Students will be assessed on their projects. Students will engage in 5 different hands on projects throughout the year for each unit they will be learning.
Students will also engage in online activities that demonstrate their understanding of each of the 5 units they will be studying. Again, these online assignments are with the child in mind. They focus mainly on puzzles, games, online art and other activities children this age enjoy doing.
